Our program: lectio difficilior lectio melior est.
Edited by Silvia Schroer (Bern) and Tal Ilan (Berlin) assisted by an international and cross-confessional editorial board.
Administration: Ulrike Sals
Feminist exegesis is an internationally recognised approach in biblical studies, which also delivers an important contribution to Gender studies. So far feminist exegetes living in Europe had only few possibilities to present their research to their fellow researchers and to all those interested in their work. This situation is deplorable, since european feminist exegesis is an extraordinarily lively research area with unique and original contributions.
At a meeting of contributors to the Kompendium Feministische Bibelauslegung, edited by Luise Schottroff and Marie-Theres Wacker, taking place in Münster (Germany) in December 1998, the suggestion was made to start with a journal. From the very beginning an electronic version was preferred, because this is less expensive and answers better to the current needs of internationally oriented scholars than a printed version does.
Under the heading «Forum» contributions are published which have the status of «Work in progress» as well as responses to previously published articles. Under the heading «Books» new scholarly publications are listed, but no bookreviews.
